Payday Pretty

This could also be accurately entitled a few more things You-Tube made me buy.

The original Payday Pretty idea, is this,  you take $20 (this week it was $30. whatever. the rules are loose) every payday and buy yourself something that makes you feel pretty.  Its kind of random for me, I don't do it every payday.

This payday pretty:

Suave deodorant: It was on sale and I wanted to give it a try.
Loreal Lift blush in rose gold (saw it recommended on Youtube)
Loreal Magic Lumi primer (Youtube again)
Rimmel 25 hour wear foundation (Youtube)
Simple brand eye makeup remover pads (recommended from my friend Kim)

On repeat in my life right now

Another heartbreak day
Feels like you’re miles away
Don’t even need no shade
When your sun don’t shine, shine

Too many passin’ dreams
Roll by like limousines
It’s hard to keep believin’
When they pass you by and by

I know your heart been broke again
I know your prayers ain’t been answered yet
I know you’re feeling like you got nothing left
Well, lift your head, it ain’t over yet, ain’t over yet so

Move, keep walkin’ soldier keep movin’ on
Move, keep walkin’ until the mornin’ comes
Move, keep walkin’ soldier keep movin’ on
And lift your head, it ain’t over yet, ain’t over yet

Echoin’ inside your head
Are the words that your sweet momma said,
“shoot for the moon, my dear”
So you took aim out of this atmosphere
Between high stakes and pump fakes
You’re feelin’ like you can’t buy a break
I can hold your hand, but I can’t turn your eyes to freedom

I know your heart been broke again
I know your prayers ain’t been answered yet
I know you’re feeling like you got nothing left
Well, lift your head, it ain’t over yet, ain’t over yet so

Move, keep walkin’ soldier keep movin’ on
Move, keep walkin’ until the mornin’ comes
Move, keep walkin’ soldier keep movin’ on
And lift your head, it ain’t over yet, ain’t over yet

Hold on, hold on
Lord ain’t finished yet
Hold on, hold on
He’ll get you through this
Hold on, hold on
These are the promises
I never will forget
I never will forget [x2]

I know your heart been broke again
I know your prayers ain’t been answered yet
it ain’t over yet, ain’t over yet so

Move, keep walkin’ soldier keep movin’ on
Move, keep walkin’ until the mornin’ comes
Move, keep walkin’ soldier keep movin’ on
And lift your head, it ain’t over yet, ain’t over yet.

sephora monthly box

Two more months of Sephora Monthly boxes and I am still in love.  This is, hands down, the best subscription box I get.

My favorite things from the January and February boxes:

Lancolm eye pencil in black. Its so creamy, and dark and long wearing. Its my now favorite black eyeliner. I will go buy this when this one has lived its full life.

Clinque Chubby Highligher Stick  I was just really excited to try this and I like the chubby stick form of the highlighter.  Its not the best highlighter I have (we all know I love the highlighters...) but I think its a good one. I probably wont buy this one.

Bare Mineral Pop of Passion lip balm I like that this is just like chap stick but with real color. Its easy to put on, it has a great pop of natural color, and it is moisturizing. I use it throughout the day. But it does not have much staying power. I probably wont buy one.

Sephora eye mask I've used Sephora paper masks before and I love them. I was excited to try the eye mask. It was a little clumsy to make it fit in the eye area and not get in my eye, but I will definitely buy more of them. I love them.

TJ Maxx haul and Walmart haul

Finally!

The ladder has been put away and the bathroom is ready for some of the fun things.  A little lunchtime shopping trip:

TJ Maxx

White fuzzy rug $12.99
Its already in position in my makeup area so my cold morning feet will have a soft and furry spot to rest a minute. However, I am constantly fighting the dog for this spot.

sugar dish $2.99.
A little something not for the bathroom sneak in my cart. I don't use sugar in my coffee  so when guests ask for it, I have to hand them the bag.  This is much cuter.  and it was irresistible at only $2.99.

WalMart

Grey trash can $4.99
On second thought, I probably could have found this at a yard sale.... in any event, it will house the toilet brush.

moth balls $2.77
This weekend, I found a black runner admiring the rose bedI hear moth balls will keep the snakes out of it. I'm also scattering them in the garage.

4 cork tiles $5.78
Similar to whats in the inside the kitchen cabinet doors, the inside of a bathroom cabinet will get a little cork board for notes, pictures, verses and lists.

Coat hook $1.98
I went with a coat hook as it looked like a sturdier option than the usual towel hooks.

Simple Woman's Daybook: Monday March 14

I am linked here

Outside my window:
Its not Winter. Its not Spring. Its that strange in between time where there are a few sunny and cool days and a few warm, grey and humid days and it rains a lot (and it floods).

I am:
Discombobulated due to the time change. Its nice in the sunny afternoons after work but its not so nice in the dark mornings before work.

I am planning:
to clean the fireplace. I have accepted the fact that my dreams of sitting in front of a roaring fire are over. The fireplace is out of use until sometime in November. It was nice while it lasted, but it didn't last long.

I am Listening to:
An audiobook, In the Sanctuary of Outcasts By Neil White. Its fascinating. Its about a man who served a one year prison sentence in a federal prison in Carville, Louisiana (about 45 minutes from me) that also houses the only leper colony in the United States. It was established in 1894.

I am watching:
Anxiously awaiting Dancing with the Stars next week.

I am watching (part two )
The rosebed.   Abraham Lincoln has one small bud and Abraham Darby has four tiny buds.  I'm not the only one watching the rosebed. I found a snake sunning himself in it last weekend.

I am watching (part three)
For the UPS man.... I ordered a rug for the bathroom and I am anxiously awaiting its arrival. I am kind of ready to be done with this bathroom re-do.

I am cooking:
made Vegan no bake Apricot Bars this weekend, and chicken cheese enchiladas and this breakfast smoothie almost every morning.

I am planning:
My second quarter goals. I've decided I'll be focused on the living room and making a vegetable garden. I'll also probably get the front porch put together since I already started by re-painting the front door and, of course, the shutters are next. I'm looking at putting curtains in the living room and that includes  making my own curtain rod. I'm tiring myself out just planning all this.

I am looking forward to:
Completely totally and finally finishing the bathroom! Just a few more tweaks here and there and I will be done.

I am looking forward to, part two:
Priscilla Shirer simulcast in April. My church is deciding if we will host a simulcast. If not, I'll be in my jammies all day streaming it in the breakfast nook.

I am looking forward to, part three:
Cancelling cable TV and saving myself some money. There are so many other options. I am thinking of going with sling. Ever tried it?

I am reading:
Just finished What comes next and how to like it.(Did not like it....) and in the middle of a Bible Study at church, The Armor of God

Mani Monday Sephora Formula X in Extraordinary

I haven't painted my nails in over three months. Because waging war on wallpaper and painting baseboards isn't ideal situations for manicures.

I've missed it.

I finally reached a place where I can paint them and...

They now match the bathroom walls.

bathroom project

A little progress.

I've been slowly working on this project forever. Mostly because standing on a ladder taking off wallpaper and painting crown molding is just not fun.

Now, its finally got to a place where I am doing some of the more exciting things. Last night, I hung curtains, put up a shelf, added new light switch covers and I ordered a rug from overstock.com.

The next step of this is a weekend trip to TJ Maxx looking for a fuzzy rug for my makeup area and a new (but cheap) shower curtain.  Then a trip to the Habitat for Humanity store to look for some sink faucets.
