A few things I'm loving right now: September edition

  • Lindor Truffles.  $.50 each. I can only buy a couple. Can't have too many available to me... My favorite is the dark chocolate and the white chocolate. I try to ration one a day with afternoon coffee.
  • In general:  big bars of scented soap from Marshalls; in particular, the pumpkin spice version. Its like soaking in a cup of Starbucks
  • Maybelline dream bounce blush. My favorite is coffee cake.
  • "The Blender".  I probably wouldn't have bought it (because its about $20), but it came in a Birchbox with a cleanser and I. LOVE. IT.

makeup primers I know and love

Primers..... I might have a hording problem.

This isn't even all of them.  (I found four more after the picture...)  and I have a couple more on my list to try (Loreal Lumi, I'm looking at you).

So many because its a mixture of those that came from Birchbox or Ipsy or the free gift with purchase at Dillard's, and purchases in the makeup aisles.

And, every time I'm in a makeup aisle, I say to myself... no! You dont have too much makeup. Get more!

The ones I love:

  • Estee Lauder (of course! the most expensive one is my favorite!) I actually bought this one, and its almost empty. I will be re-purchasing.  Its probably my very favorite. I use use the illumination primer on top of my makeup as a highlighter.
  • Loreal Miracle Blur:  I cant say it is a miracle, or even that it blurs, but the ads are certainly convincing and I like the smooth  and cool feel, and its a lot cheaper than Estee Lauder.
  • Put a lid on it. Can an eyelid primer still be considered a primer? Lets just say yes. Its my favorite for this. I also love that I can buy the "sample size" because a little goes a very long way.
Honorable mention: the pore-fessional by the Balm.

My least favorite?  Jouer, ybf, and Rimmel. Each of theses have too much color in them for me and turn my makeup a little orange.

What is your favorite primer?

Insta-Friday: a few pictures from my week

This is my version of a perfect morning:  driving into work with flowers and Starbucks. Starbucks is for me. Flowers for secretary.

Isn't he adorable? He's gotten to be an old man. He surrounds himself with all the things he loves, his bed, his blanket and his stuffed animal.

There is just something so organized and appealing about opening the drawer on coffee delivery day at work.

Latest read.  I figure if I'm going to make smoothies, I may as well take the time to figure out the best tasting and nutritious combinations. I read one chapter thus far and already ran out to buy organic chia seeds. Not sure what I'm going to do with them yet, but I have them ready to be called into action.

life rearranged

Self-prescribed divorce recovery trips for chocolate yogurt are diminishing, but not altogether over.

September Ipsy vs. Birchbox Showdown

September Ipsy contained:
  • Silver studded makeup bag
  • Mitchell and Peach English Growers hand cream ( Hand cream sitting on my desk at work, very thin formula with a very strong smell)
  • Pacificia Natural Minerals eye pencil in a greenish/grey shade
  • Nourish Organic face cleanser in  cucumber and watercress
  • Crown double ended brush for crease and shadow (I love this brush)
  • Cailyn art touch tinted lip gloss in "Love Affair" (color looks a little too dark for me but was very sheer and I liked it a lot)
September Birchbox included:
  • Dr Brandt Pores no More vacuum cleaner gel mask
  • Noir Cosmetics eyeliner (full size)
  • Ruffian nail polish in Naked
  • Ruffian nail polish remover pads
  • Suki exfoliating cleanser
  • Yu-Be moisturizing skin cream

Although I'm excited about the mask and the polish in Birchbox, the September winner is.... Ipsy. The lip gloss and double ended brush just threw Ipsy over the top!

Mani Monday- Revlon Gel Envy

I'm in love....

The new "gel" color from the drug store. I am impressed with the shine (although not as shiny as a nail salon) and I am impressed with the staying power (again, not as long as the salon)  and I am impressed with the price ($5 a bottle).

Very little chipping after 6 days.... I'm in love with the Gel Envy!

Bath and Body Works 3 wick candle sale

How can Friday afternoon get any better?

The Bath and Body Works Candle sale!

I've been waiting and eagerly preparing myself for this sale.... the 2 candles for $22 sale, and I had a coupon!  I paid $8.50 a candle. (they are regularly $20 each!)

I clearly stocked up! The fall scents are my favorite and I'll  be burning the marshmellow fireside all year long.

I'm not gonna lie, I'll probably find another coupon and find myself at this sale again before it ends.

and I had a coupon for the small one free.....

nature box

My first nature box!  I am hooked!
My first box contained:
  • Cashew Clusters (my favorite)
  • Pistachio Cluster (my second favorite)
  • Dried Fuji apples (delicious!)
  • Blueberry whole wheat cookies (delicious but too much sugar for me, I gave the entire bag away)
  • One granola bar with coconut and pineapple (NOT my favorite... would not buy this)
  • Poppy seed sticks (tasty, but I am not hooked)

Wasn't kidding about that shopping thing

I swear.... I did need a new wallet and I only went to Dillards because I heard the wallets on clearance was an additional 40% off.

The rumor was true!

I paid $20 for the $65 turquoise wallet.

But wait.

They happen to have a matching purse, and its on clearance too....

I paid less than $80 for both.

Now I have a  Antonio Melani leather matching set and the compliments keep rolling in.....

Lately: September edition

I can make the exact same announcement that Beth Moore's daughter made (here) "Its been a hard year and I'm divorced"

What have I been doing?

I've been doing This .... except substitute frozen yogurt for the donuts, and add shopping... a lot of shopping

and this. Wall-building is hard.

But I've had a lot of Ravens visiting (like here)

"No one wants to go to the circus", but I've been to the circus. A lot of circus. (#5 here)

but mostly this
